This 1 ingredient ice cream is so delicious and simple to make you'll wonder why you haven't been making it your entire life. That's right, all you need is a single ingredient. It's like magic!

Ingredients:
Banana, ripe (I was't lying)

What to do:
Cut your banana into small pieces and place in the freezer for a minimum of 2 hours but preferably overnight. TIP: the more ripe your banana is the sweeter your ice cream will be. I like to let my bananas sit on the counter until they begin to get brown spots. I pre portion each banana in a separate bag before freezing to make it easy when I'm craving a sweet snack.

Remove the banana from the freezer and place in a food processor, make sure the banana isn't in one giant chunk otherwise you might burn out the processor. Process the bananas for 5-6 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed.

You'll notice the banana goes through multiple stages, first it will be lumpy, then it will come together in a chunky but cohesive manner and finally it will become smooth, creamy and take on an ice cream texture. This is where the magic happens.

Place the ice cream in a bowl and place in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up. Take it out and enjoy, it's so delicious and only the calories of the banana. Perfect for when you're having a sweet craving but don't want to stray from your diet.

You can mix up your flavours too, the varieties are endless. Below, I've added a pinch of cinnamon and sprinkled with toasted almonds. In an alternate version I added 1/4 cup of blueberries to the mixture and processed for 30 seconds before placing in the freezer.

You can add peanut butter, chocolate chips, honey, nuts or anything your heart desires, have fun and experiment with different flavours.
